Nar Garzhvog's War Club

My design for the war club belonging to the Urgal/ Kull known as Nar Garzhvog from the Eragon books. Keeping the same design pillars as Nar Garzhvog's armor, I created this war club for the character. The focus here was to make something that paid homage to the real world clubs, while adding elements of visual intimidation, animal iconography, and skill with raw materials.

This war club has been used by Nar Garzhvog for many years, capable of splitting men in two. It is scarred and beaten, much like it's owner. The horn shell is taken from a giant goat, much like the Feldûnost from the Beor mountains. The horn is secured to the wooden base with nails and rough iron strips. Originally these strips were leather, but had to be replaced so often from the wear and tear of combat. The club handle is carved from hard maple wood, with clan decoration burnt in. The handle is wrapped with coarse bloodstained rope, giving it's owner a firm grip. Along with a wrist strap made of hide, fastened by a bronze loop.
