The initial pitch for the episode 2 trailer by Tom Bevins. I went in after approval and storyboarded it out. Initially it was just a few shots, fitting in with the events at the end of episode 1, showing how they found out about the amethyst blade.
Eventually, Theory wanted to make a full cinematic, and show what happened well before Vader arrived on Naboo. So I wrote a new, one-shot P.O.V. cinematic, with input from Theory and Jack Millard.
Taking inspiration from a force unleashed 2 trailer, clone wars 2d animated series, republic commando and a host of other references.
Thanks to Spencer Barber and Blue Fire Studios, we were able Mocap this entire cinematic, following pre-recorded lines from our clone voice actor.
Jacob Lofgren came up with the workflow to apply mocap to our clone rig.
FINAL TRAILER - Due to lack of people available to work on this P.O.V. Cinematic, production was taking too long, so Theory decided to go back to a smaller trailer. He wanted to salvage as much of the Mocap as possible.
Theory brought on Tim Forsgren as the new supervisor. I pitched the idea that we simply mix the two previous trailers and keep a good chunk of mocap. Once this was approved, Tim and I went through and roughed out what shots would be used.
I then made this storyboard, and laid the groundwork for THE trailer.
I was involved until a little after Tim Forsgren came on as the new supervisor.
Unfortunately none of the Mocap was used by Tim's people, got a bloody 3 inch gash on my leg from falling on a mocap sensor, so that sucks all that effort was wasted. Very proud of the final product though.
Story development for Star Wars Theory's Amethyst Blade Cinematic. I was involved until a little after Tim Forgeson came on as supervisor.
